Elephant Marsh, located in Malawi’s Lower Shire Valley, is one of the country’s most ecologically rich yet increasingly threatened wetlands. Home to over 110 bird species, a thriving hippo population, supporting agricultural and fisheries production, the marsh provides critical ecosystem services to both wildlife and human communities.
